Rules: 50 mile riders only.
1. Riders must be the sole caretakers of their horse from the beginning of the ride, to final veterinary inspection at the finish.
No crews allowed.
2. Ride management will provide designated areas at the vet-checks with food and water for horses and riders.
3. Any accessories and supplements (easy boots, electrolytes, grain, etc) that the rider feels is needed during the event must be
carried with him or her on the trail.
4. Riders will be given a numbered yellow pinny to wear at the pre- ride vet check so that they can be identified during the
event.
5. Any rider during the course of the event can withdraw from the Pioneer Division and
continue as a *regular 50 mile entrant.
6. In the event a horse loses a shoe, the rider must replace the shoe him/herself, or use another type of hoof protection. If the
rider elects to use a farrier, the horse/rider team will no longer be eligible for the Pioneer Division, but will continue as a
*regular 50 mile entrant.
*riders who drop from the Pioneer Division must turn in their pinny to the head volunteer when they elect to withdraw from the
division, and are not longer eligible for the Barsaleau Cup.
